Description

James Hartenfeld is a Portland Comedian that lives with BP and wanted to put together a benefit show to help others living with the condition. Funhouse Lounge is a Portland comedy staple and the event is stacked with incredible comedians. People living with bipolar disorder are: 40% less likely to have a job, 10x more likely to abuse alcohol and drugs, and 25-50% attempt suicide while 15% are successful. This is an effort to raise some awareness and bring joy to those who have been impacted. James Hartenfeld is a comic and actor based in Portland, OR. He's performed with Ron Lynch, Kyle Kinane, Mark Normand, and been cast alongside actors from Portlandia, Documentary Now! and MADtv. His screenplays have been read at Festival de Cannes and NBC's Writers on The Verge. James is a Portland's Funniest Semifinalist and performed in various festivals including Devil's Cup Comedy Fest NYC. Caitlin Kunkel from Second City Chicago stated "I can attest James Hartenfeld is an extremely funny person." Respected local comics describe him as "somewhere else entirely," and "a legend." His show at Funhouse Lounge will benefit the International Bipolar Fund on December 17th at 10pm.
