ACLS OB Class - Class content is focused on recognition & adaptation of ACLS algorithms for care of pregnant or newly delivered patients.
This class is followed by a full AHA ACLS Provider course. The ACLS OB class has its own agenda, evaluation, and method of course completion. The instructors teach the AHA ACLS content while adapting the cases/scenarios to meet the needs of the OB learners. The resuscitation science is based on ILCOR (International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation) so it is consistent with best practices based on the best available evidence. This class includes:
A review of pathophysiology of pregnancyReview of cardiac structure/function, including an EKG reviewModifications for each of the "core" cases covered in ACLSA section about talking with families (ethical, practice, legal issues)
