Experience the magic of infusing your artwork with healing intent using techniques that will not only deepen your art practice but help support your spiritual evolution. The artworks created using this process serve as a focal point for meditation, healing, and shamanic consciousness, serving - even in prints - as portals to send energy across space and time. Collages are assembled in preparation for paintings. The entire process from beginning to end takes several sessions. These sessions are free for Alchemical Artist level (& above) members of the Shamanic Arts Center. Sessions are scheduled at the Creamery in Hotchkiss on the 2nd Saturday of the month. You can join us at any point in the process by starting a new artwork, returning with the art piece you saved from a previous session, or you can work on a donated work-in-progress. We highly recommend working on one of the donated works-in-progress as this will help release you from attachment to the painting so you can immerse yourself in the process which is a moving meditation. Register here for a one-time session. Paintings are done using the glaze layering technique. May use oils or acrylics. No experience is necessary. At our painting sessions, artists will be working on projects that may be completed in the weeks ahead either at home or at the next session. This is because the painting will require time to dry between glaze layers. The resulting painting is considered to be multi-media since we may add in plant oils and other substances.
