Celebrate the release of Steven Gamburd's new graphic novel Dubface Annual and Steve Czapiewski's new holiday book Sally's Super Special Christmas. Books will be available for purchase and signing and an author talk and Q&A will take place at 3:00 pm. Dubface Annual is the newest work by Steven Gamburd, featuring sequential comic art, various odd stories and the first chapter of a crime noir novella-- all in a mixture of styles and format. For the past 30 years, Gamburd has illustrated painted weird worlds, abstractions, landscapes, figure models, portraits, murals, album covers, comic books, and graphic novels. His works include murals and commissions as well as pieces exhibited in solo and group art shows. He is currently producing lessons for a comprehensive manual Watercolor Magic, coming up with new storylines and content for the next Dubface Annual, and drumming with his shoegaze rock band Origami Phase. Sally's Super Special Christmas features digital artist Steve Czapiewski's recurring character "Sally", a contemporary take on a pin-up girl. Czapiewski's pin-up influenced vector images are immediately recognizable, and have a sense of fun that everyone can enjoy. He founded OOMM Studios, an illustration and prepress studio, in 1993. His "fine art" gained attention in the 2010s when he produced promotional posters for burlesque, movie, horror, and outsider art events around Detroit and Flint. He has also curated several art shows, and won a variety of awards for his fine art and graphic art.
