2-3yr old black cat

My mother passed away a few days ago and has a 2-3 yr old black cat that I can't take since I'm not allowed pets. I've called the shelters and they are full and won't take anymore. Looking for a loving family. His name is Joey. Not sure if he would do well with other animals. He is shy and timid at first and takes a bit to warm up to people, then becomes loving. I believe he is up to date on shot. Not sure if he has claws or not, will check when I put him in his carrier. Please email me with any questions. Thanks.
