Looking for a Volunteer who can commit to Our Mission Center

Hello there: The Annandale United Methodist Church has a mission center located off of Heritage Drive in Annandale VA. Every Thursday, the mission center distributes food to approximately 300 families between the hours of 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Recently our mission lost 3 of our dearest volunteers who had been helping out due to medical conditions and advanced aging. We are now in dire need of help. Currently the mission center benefits from food donations from a large food bank located in Fairfax county, close to Mosaic District, (Gallows Road, 22031), and we need 2 volunteers who can drive/ride the Mission Center's minivan, pick up the food donations, help pack it in the minivan (roughly around 2,500 lbs., every week in one trip) and return to the mission center before the distribution starts. This adds up to approximately to 2 to 3 hours of volunteer service every Thursday, rain or shine except for Thanksgivings Day which happens on a Thursday. This is a year round opportunity and we need someone who can commit to our mission at least 2 Thursdays per month. This is an unpaid position, however the good done for our less fortunate is compensated by God. This mission is a Christian organization and we encourage volunteers of all faiths to join us. Most of our clients are section 8 residents, senior citizens and title 1 school aged children and their families.
