The laughter is coming to Owego when Homebrewed Comedy hits the stage at the John Barleycorn on Wednesday, Jan. 11. Mike Celona is headlining the show and Shane Allen and Michael Colon are joining host Mike Peters. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and there's a recommended $5 donation at the door, which opens at 7. Come out and enjoy the show. About the comedians: Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters is the founder of Homebrewed Comedy. He hosts at the Syracuse Funny Bone and Wise Crackers in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcasts, On the Mic with Mike Peters and It’s About Time: A Sopranos Watch Podcast. Michael Colòn is a stand-up comedian from Rochester. He’s been performing for five-plus years and has been at various clubs all over the country. Colòn has opened for Joe DeRosa, Bobby Slayton and Trevor Wallace. A host at Comedy at the Carlson, Colòn will tell you all about his life and insecurities. He’s an old man in a young man’s body and he’s obsessed with eating Hot Pockets after midnight. Shane Allen has been doing stand-up around the Rochester area for about a decade. A DJ for 94.1 The Zone in Rochester and co-founder of The Innerloop Blog, Allen is a regular host at the Comedy at the Carlson and took second at the Rochester’s Funniest Person contest in 2021. Allen also co-hosts The Gentlemen’s Club podcast with Mark Maira. Mike Celona’s the stupid funny comedian for your whole crew. With two No. 1 comedy albums under his belt, he’s changing the comedy game.
