Description
I’m going to put this out there and see what response I get. I play guitar and sing. Mostly classic rock, 80s, and 90s. Not always exactly like the original recordings. I was in gigging bands for about ten years until the pandemic shutdowns came. It was a good time for me to take a break.
I’m not now looking for a drummer or for a full band. Instead I’m looking to partner with a percussionist. I envision partnering with someone who has a suitcase full of percussion rhythm instruments to take to gigs. Candidly, I will need help setting up and breaking down my guitar equipment at gigs, and I definitely want someone who understands how to check sound and make the instruments sit under the voice. Volume can’t be a problem at paid gigs. I want someone with a steady sense of time who can find a groove. A second singer would be great, but I’m also not looking to wing it with complicated harmonies on stage.
I’d like to rehearse about once a week and gig indoors at small venues on weekends. About 25-35 gigs a year would be good. I have a wife, a young daughter, and a full time job. So, this is not really a second job for me. Unlike when I was younger, I really don’t care too much about making money playing music.
I’m Joe.
