Registration for this Math PowerShop: Operation Rekenrek! begins at 9:30. Educators of students in Prek - 2nd grade will: learn a little history of the rekenrek (counting frame) and what makes it a powerful math tool.discuss efficient, cost-effective process for supporting many students with this tool. practice routines with the rekenrek to support the standards (with any curriculum), after school program, or in one-on-one or small group tutoring.The goal is for lower elementary math educators to make this tool accessible to as many young learners as possible so they can learn to count, add, subtract and build number sense using a this powerful visual and concrete tool. Participants are encouraged to bring a demonstration and/or student rekenrek to the workshop, if available.
