On Friday, December 9, from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm at The Hatchery Innovation Studio at Rutgers-New Brunswick, Design for America Rutgers will host a Final Showcase where students will present their work and lessons learned throughout their experiences in DFA Rutgers' launching semester. DFA students from over 15 majors and various Rutgers schools have participated in a 10-week design thinking program where they have researched a problem, conducted research, and designed solutions to address food insecurity. Students have tackled the issue from various lenses, including college food insecurity, food bank access, food sustainability, and food insecurity education. DFA is a national network of network of over 36 campus studios using design innovation for positive social impact. Interdisciplinary student teams collaborate with faculty, staff, and community leaders to address challenges in their local communities.
