In this private group workshop learn basic principles and techniques of using a sewing machine, tools and notions. Dates of the cohort include Saturdays in January 7, 14, 21, 28 2023. Times: 10:30 AM-12 PM Kids Session (Ages mature 6-13. Parents are required to stay for the first 45 minutes for those under 10 years old.) 12:45 PM-2:15 PM Adult Session (Ages 14-101) Cost: $185 for four 1.5-hour sessions. Class size: 6 students maximum per session. No prior experience is required! This workshop will enhance beginner skills in sewing. Participants will leave the workshop with an understanding of basic sewing machine skills, knowledge of basic sewing tools, basic troubleshooting techniques and an easy projects including a choice of pillow, letter pillow, infinity scar, bucket hat, simple tote or zipper bag! Masks are required for these workshops! Masks will be provided for all participants if needed. Location for this event will be announced! It will be held in the South Fulton, Hapeville, College Park, East Point area of Atlanta, GA! We teach a variety of foundational courses to our clients! Supplies and Fabric Needed: 1 yard of Cotton Fabric (needed for first class session) 2 yards Belting, 1-2 yards fabric, other small items (instructor will give more clarity after registration and first class session) Sewing Machine, Basic Sewing Kit, Notions, Pillow Fluff are included in class fee. No refunds. Makeup classes are available in the February cohort only due to emergencies or illness. Please reach out to instructor for more information. An introduction to Sewing and Flowing, Basic Sewing Tools & Notions, Explaining the Sewing Machine 101, Sewing Machine Threading, Machine Stitching and Practice, Review, Basic Patterns and Pinning, Creation of Pillow Project. 2nd Session Review of Sewing Machine Basics and Practice, Threading a Bobbin practice, Finish Pillow Project if needed, Practice Curves and Pivoting, Fabric Basics 101, Pattern Basics Part 2, Creation of Tote Bag. 3rd Session Review Sewing Machine Basics, Finish Tote Bag Creation Project. 4th Session Review Sewing information, Start Bucket Hat, Infinity Scarf or Zipper Bag Project. Neci has been an avid sewist for over 20 years. She is a master teacher of the sewist and science trade. She has created over 400 sewn handbags through the Neci LoveHarmon brand. She has also created her wardrobe many times over the last 20 years including prom dress, wedding dress, home decor and everything in between.
