Bicycles had a major impact on society. The biggest was on the women's movement, it broke down several barriers by allowing women to leave the home and travel without a man. It allowed them to participate in education, social and political organizations. Susan B. Anthony noted;" The bicycle had done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world."
