Do you ever volunteer at a food pantry garden? Do you wonder where the seedlings come from? Do you know how it gets distributed once you harvest it? Who has access to it? MAMGA has pulled together a panel of experts that represent every aspect of the food pantry chain. Dan Johnson, Garden Mgr Middleton Outreach Minestry provides seedlings to various gardens Matt Lechmaierm Madison Food Pantry Gardens coordinates the production on 12 acres Sadie Willis, managing CSAs contributing to food pantries Kristopher Tazelaar, Second Harvest addresses where 2nd harvest gets their produce and how it gets distributed to the various food pantry banks Jules Lee, Middleton Outreach Ministry oversees the distribution to the people in the community This should be an enlightening program and will give you insight into a very popular volunteer opportunity for MGVs. This program will be conducted in person only. Light refreshments will be served from 8:30 - 9:00 AM with the program commencing at 9AM and finishing at Noon. There is ample parking at Vista West just across from the entrance. The program will be held in the community room on the first floor. Just keep going straight once you sign in and you will walk into the room.
