According to the American Psychological Association, IN THE LAST MONTH 75% of Americans reported that they experienced mental or physical symptoms of stress. It's easy for many of us to forget that making time for self-care is just as important as making time for a doctor's appointment. It's been proven that our mental health plays a key role in determining our physical health. Engaging in the practice of self-care to promote wellness is just as essential as eating food to avoid starvation. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), health is defined as being βa state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.β On Saturday, December 3rd, don't be afraid to press pause on the hustle and bustle of everyday life to join us for a wellness hike at Point Pinole Shoreline. We'll be there bright and early at 10am with food, water, piping hot coffee, and two hours to check out some of the most scenic views in Richmond. And never forget #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthisphysicalhealth
