CASA For Kids of Mon and Preston Counties is hosting the first annual "Snow Much Love" Winter Gala! This semi-formal event will consist of a delicious dinner and open bar provided by The Ritz Touch, music and dancing provided by Mish Mash Entertainment, several raffle drawings, and much more! In our community, there are hundreds of children each year who are in the court system as a result of abuse and neglect. CASA For Kids of Monongalia and Preston Counties works to ensure that each of these children, who are in the system through no fault of their own, are provided an advocate and are placed in safe and stable permanent homes as quickly as possible. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are community members who devote countless hours advocating for the most vulnerable, voiceless victims in society—abused and neglected children. Most times, these children are removed from their homes, and everyone and everything they know, with little to no notice. They enter into a world where everything is different, and while everything is changing for these children, their CASA is always there. CASA volunteers are there to care for and support these children, and their best interest, in a time when their lives are turned upside down. Many times, a CASA volunteer is the only consistent and stable adult presence in these children’s lives. CASA For Kids is working to grow and expand to ultimately provide a CASA for each child who has been removed from their home because of abuse and neglect.
