Who doesn't LOVE Christmas Cookies......and Cocktails?! Come get merry with us at the BLITZEN Walk! Get a head start on holiday celebrating, get away from the stress of the season and join us in historic downtown Middletown for our BLITZEN Cookie & Cocktail Walk. After checking in at the Middletown's Holiday Whopla Festival and Ice Skating Rink, you will walk to different shops, eateries and establishments to get 8 different cookies, lovingly prepared from our delicious Central Pastry and Mockingbirds Cafe! Each "Cookie Stop" will have a specially selected cocktail pairing available for purchase (not included in ticket price, sold separately at each location). Cookie in one hand......paired cocktail in another.......does that sound like something at the top of your Christmas List?! THEN YOU NEED TO BE HERE! (The Downtown Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) will be in effect, allowing you to sip and stroll between stops! Even better news? A DORA wristband, which allows you to do so, will be included in your ticket price!) As an added bonus, there will be some "reindeer games" in several Downtown businesses that will provide you a warm-up Scavenger hunt. If you make all the stops, you can redeem your passport back at the Windamere before you leave for a FREE souvenir and cookie to continue the party at home. We can't promise you will burn more calories than you consume, but it will be a fun-filled night! Come join us and #getblitzened! How it Works: Check-In will begin at 6p.m. at The Middletown Holiday Whopla immersive light festival and ice skating rink, located behind the Pendleton Art Center at Broad St. in downtown Middletown. It is here that you will trade your ticket for your cookie tasting map (and of course, your official BLITZEN reindeer antlers). Cookie tastings (and cocktail pairings) will be located inside various local businesses & buildings throughout downtown Middletown. Cocktail pairings will be paid directly at the stop ($3 each) or full glasses will be available for purchase as well. There is a bit of walking involved, so make sure you wear comfortable shoes, but have no fear- this is a cookie & cocktail event, not a fitness event! The hours of the event are 6 p.m. to 10 p.m and you may check-in at the Windamere anytime during this time. Tickets: Tickets are $18 and include 8 locally made cookies, a DORA wristband which allows you to drink outside between stops within the DORA area (if over 21 years), official BLITZEN reindeer antlers as well as a themed souvenir and to-go cookie if you complete your passport! FAQs: Is there a minimum age requirements for the event? This event is a cookie & cocktail pairing event- and since it is called BLITZEN, it will be adult focused. Not into cocktails? No problem- just buy a ticket which gets you all of the cookie stops- as well as the bonus freebies if you complete your passport! Please bring valid ID with you. What are my transportation/parking options? There are multiple free parking lots in and around downtown Middletown. Event check in is at the Holiday Whopla skating rink (39 North Broad St. Middletown, OH 45044) with plenty of parking. When you complete the walk and scavenger hunt, you will return to the Holiday Whopla skate rink to exchange your completed passport for your free cookie & gift to take home, so parking here is recommended. Is this event rain or shine? Cookies & Cocktails taste delicious in any weather so the walk will go on rain, snow or sun! What cocktails will be offered? Our stops have specifically paired different cookie types with unique, craft cocktails or alcoholic treats that you likely don't have the opportunity to taste every day. Watch the facebook event page for more details as the event gets closer! What if I don't like the paired cocktail? No problem! Since you purchase the pairings at each stop, you are welcome to skip the specially created and served pairing, or order something else from the bar!
