Description
Expectations are pre-meditative resentments. Expectations can leave us feeling disappointed and resentful. Whether it is those you have for yourself or others. Most of the time it is an unachievable level of perfectionism at the core. These expectations then leave little room for acceptance of self or others as resentment builds up when we become tied to the outcome. When we surrender the outcome, we make space for life to flow as it was intended, and it is those moments when it is even better than hoped. Join Stephanie and Trish for an afternoon of Yoga and Breathwork where we will move from expectations to flow. This holiday season we invite you to . . . Let go of expectations, of yourself, of others, of the way things “should” be. Let go of expectations of attachments to material things. Let go of the idea of things not being enough just as they are. Let things go. Let things flow. Bring in PEACE. ALLOW things to be harmonious and easy. Yoga = Union Union of the mind with body. Union of breath paired to movement. In yoga we use the breath to move energy in the body. One breath, one movement. Breath (pranayama) paired with the sacred body alignments (asana) allows the break-up of blockages in the physical and energetic sheaths. This pairing of breath and movement can begin to allow free-flowing energy through the channels of the body, clearing stagnant energy. Yamas & Niyamas are the 10 moral and ethical guidelines of Life. They guide us how to have positive, ethical relationships with ourselves and with others. The first of the Yamas is Ahimsa or non-harming. It applies to our thoughts, actions and the words we use with others and with ourselves. The practice of Ahimsa allows us to practice self-care and reframe negative thoughts and allow kindness and compassion even during difficult times. The fifth of the Niyamas that is important to cultivate during this season is Isvara Pranidhana, the act of Surrender. Letting go of our sense of “I” or the ego, we can get closer to our true nature, close to purity and goodness that lies within us all. Through the act of surrender we release the thoughts, emotions and expressions that we have defined ourselves and others by. By doing so we can truly see the divine in everyone; we can see that everyone is equal. Surrender helps to release expectations about outcomes, reduces stress and anxiety an embraces uncertainty of all that is yet to come. This class is accessible to all bodies. Offering variations for any level of experience. We help you to meet your body where it is. Active Breathwork focuses on moving and releasing energy held in our bodies to improve our well-being. Your body is your home—past, present, and future all at once—and whether you realize it or not, it has been quietly collecting the full spectrum of your experiences. Chronic stress, trauma and painful events or experiences stay with us long after they have transpired. Unresolved, they create blocks and patterns of behavior or thinking that keep us from our highest selves, from reaching professional goals or achieving feelings of peace and contentment that allow our relationships to flourish. Through this practice, you can clear blocks, patterns and behaviors that keep you from you. Clearing the energy, releasing what is heavy, painful, or stagnant, creates space for what wants to come through you—just like weeding a garden or cleaning your house. Whether you are new to breathwork or have practiced many times, all are welcome.
