Vision: Our vision is for all city residents to maximize their career potential, and all employers to have the human resources to grow and prosper – we are creating a workforce system that works. Value: We believe that every resident deserves the opportunity for meaningful work and a hopeful future. MOED’s website: https://moed.baltimorecity.gov/ ABOUT THE BALTIMORE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD The Baltimore Workforce Development Board (BWDB) is made up of a majority of business leaders who oversee workforce development in Baltimore City, in conjunction with labor, workforce, education and philanthropy. They partner with a broad array of workforce stakeholders to ensure our combined efforts are well-coordinated, high-quality and impactful for jobseekers and employers. Peruse our site to learn more about current workforce efforts and how you can get involved. Vision: Forward together - The Baltimore Workforce Development Board envisions a city where every person maximizes his or her full employment potential and all employers have the human resources to grow and prosper. Mission: The Baltimore Workforce Development Board, in collaboration with all key stakeholders, will build a workforce development system that drives and supports the local economy. The Business Engagement Committee ensures the workforce system is responsive to employer needs. It develops and implements strategies, such as industry sector partnerships, to increase business involvement in the workforce system. Practice Advisory relaunched in 2019 with quarterly convenings, professional development training and critical conversations about how to work together to move the needle on employment and wage outcomes for Baltimore City residents. This is why a key message of Practice Advisory is, “Stronger in Partnership.” Practitioners that are a part of Practice Advisory understand that EVERY resident deserves the opportunity for meaningful work and a hopeful future.
