Specialty producers and those who have an interest in supporting local foods in the Black Hills region of South Dakota are encouraged to register for this event. This is open for SDSPA members and non members. The focus of this event is networking, and providing an opporutnity to explore aggregation. Aggregation can come in many forms- food hubs, multi-farm CSAs, Co-ops, combining a single product to reach buyers, pooling products or carpooling products to connect with a restaurant, retailer, or institution (such as nursing home, school, hospital). This meeting may result in producers looking to explore the development of a new aggregation opporunity in their region, or simply better utilize something already happening. 5:30- Networking 5:45- SDSU Extension Community Vitality Field Specialist will be facilitating a participant-focused disucssion on challenges and opportunities for production, aggregation and marketing in your region. 6:30- Meal break 7:00- Overview of current aggregation opportunities in this region.
