About Helen Turley:
As a young teenage girl who migrated from her small town in Guatemala, Helen Ortiz Turley, came to the U.S. in search of the American dream. Helen overcame adversity, and against all odds, she became an international bodybuilder competitor after surviving cancer twice. Helen has risen through the ranks and currently represents her native country of Guatemala at the highest levels of competition.
As a young immigrant teen, Helen learned the concept of work and labor through intensive agricultural jobs. While working in agriculture, she became legalized through an amnesty program issued to agricultural workers. Amnesty opened the doors of opportunities even wider for Helen. After learning the English tongue, Helen excelled in sales roles in different industries for many years until COVID-19. After losing her job, she faced many challenges which forced her to reinvent herself. At age 56, Helen started a new career in commercial real estate. A year into her new professional life, Helen established herself as one of the best in her industry and was made partner with the Carthage Realty Group in Kansas City.
Helen wants to utilize her many challenges and personal story to inspire immigrants, single mothers, cancer survivors, and those who need a hand in finding hope when they face adversity!
