Did you know?! Vizcaya first opened its doors as a private residence on Christmas Day 1916 and we celebrate by decorating the Main House as it might have been 100 years ago. Join us as we celebrate the season with LIGHT!
Make: Whether you’re visiting with children or talented artisans, guests can get in the spirit with art-making for all ages and skill levels.
Learn: You’ll have the opportunity to learn more about the history of the estate and explore the illuminated formal gardens.
Listen: to live music that celebrates the winter season as you explore the house and grounds
See: the Main House decorated for the season as might have been done 100 years ago, including garland strung from the balconies and inside the Courtyard. The Dining Room table set for entertaining. And an old-timey Christmas tree decorated in the East Loggia.
See more: During the first Holiday Evening (on December 14th) we voted on the best gingerbread house done by amateurs in different architectural styles featured in our city. This is part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of our partners, Dade Heritage Trust, and in partnership with Edible South Florida. Those gingerbread houses will be on display in the Enclosed Loggia.
