BASS STYLES INCLUDE: Jazz; Swing (1920's through present styles); 1950's-60's R&B, Soul and Motown; Jump; Big Band; Shuffle; Blues; Rock & Roll; Do-Wop; Country; Country Rock; Texas Swing; Folk; Shows and Musicals; etc, etc, etc. FORMER MEMBER OF: -3 Musicians Unions (New York, Los Angeles and Santa Cruz). -The Screen Actors Guild -Numerous working bands and vocal groups, with 1000's of gigs behind me BASS PLAYING SKILLS INCLUDE: -Solid, tasteful player -great feel -great ear -huge repetoire -quick learner -excellent sight reader -very musical and tasteful improvisor -won't get in the way -comfortably fits into most styles of music -playing very musical bass lines while singing -if needed, also play tuba SINGING SKILLS INCLUDE: -singing on pitch -wide vocal range -good voice -clear diction -solid HARMONY for ANY STYLE music -can creatively add 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th harmony part -large standard repetoire -Sight Read anything on vocal -vocal improvisor (scat, etc) -singing while playing bass ADDITIONAL SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES: -music theory -arranging harmony -transpose keys -transcribing music -arranging horn riffs -writing out charts for band members -songwriting -creating melodic melodies -always reliable -healthy: non-smoker, non-drinker, no drugs -easy to get along with -positive attitude -still loves playing and singing and looks forward to each gig -helping any band sound better -years as FRONTMAN and also years as very supportive SIDEMAN -can offer suggestions, and/or can listen openly to your suggestions DIFFERENT SITUATION POSSIBILITIES I AM LOOKING FOR: -any style major touring band, especially with vocal harmony -any 1920's, 30's, 40's, 50's or 60's style vocal harmony group/band with at least 3 voices -standards / jazz group -lounge gigs -house band -casuals, club dates -wedding band with musicians that need little or no rehearsing -BIG BAND or PIT BAND, even as a SUB (I can sight read effortlessly) -any very busy local band. -local 'subbing' gigs, one nighters, last minute bass player replacement, etc -many other possibilities I might be open to ALSO AVAILABLE FOR: -Recording -Film -Commercials -Jingles. **Will consider traveling, touring or an extended gig outside of New York in an acceptable situation.
