Veteran in need of cheap vehicle

I a Veteran new to the area and my vehicle broke down on the way from Washington State. I have a vehicle right now that I'm unable to register due to the previous owner not coming through with a title. I desperately need to get back and forth to work and risk losing my job along with everything else if I get pulled over. I'm in need of a cheap or free vehicle to buy (or borrow if for a few months) while I rebuild my life. I'm only working part-time at the moment so my budget is only about $500. Please and thank you!
