Participants invited for Northwestern University wearable-tech study What is the purpose of this study? —The purpose of this study is to test privacy-protection methods for wearable devices Who can participate? —Age 18-64 —BMI 30-39 —Live in Chicago Metro Area What's involved? in order: —1 hour lab visit (downtown Chicago) —Wear our device (similar to a necklace, see flyer above) at home for 7 days —7 day 'washout period' (a break from the study, no tasks) —Wear our device at home for 7 more days with a different privacy setting —Return for <1 hour lab visit, return device, complete surveys & interview key points: —Participants wear our device at home for a total of 14 days —Participants review collected data each night and delete any data they prefer not be shared with the study team —We provide participants with software and instructions for deleting data Will I be paid? —Participants are paid $100 for each 7-day period of wearing the device at home, for a total of $200 —Payment is sent virtually 1-2 days after study ends (can be transferred to bank) How do I sign up? —Complete the survey at this link: How can I learn more about the study? —Contact the study coordinator by replying to this post or by text/call at +1 269 (598)-1503
