In December 2021, the Environmental Services Department received approval from the Board of County Commissioners to convert some county-owned land into a regional park. This will be a phased project but ultimately, this will be a nature park that will include a native prairie pollinator planting, wetlands and forest habitats. Unpaved walking trails will be created throughout this 32 acre area and there are also plans to incorporate an environmental learning center building and outdoor educational areas too! Please join us for an informational meeting about the environmental classroom on Wednesday, December 7th at 6 p.m. at the Zumbro Education District Building, Room 201 in Kasson. We are excited for this new addition to Dodge County and are interested in building it to suit the needs of the residents of the County and attracting visitors to the area.
