A health problem my cat had

My cat sounded as if she was underwater when she meowed/vocalized, she had a build up of fluid/water in her chest cavity and stomach/pelvis and she had swollen glands in her abdomen/pelvis. I was not well at the time and did not handle her care as I would have previously or would now. I never found out what was actually wrong with her and am wondering what others may think. Maybe you've had an animal with similar issues? Maybe you are a vet or knowledgeable about this? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.
