Who Do I Call to Pick Up a Dog?

My daughter brought home a pit bull. We've had conversations about this before and I told her we cannot afford a dog. I don't have a car and so I can't drive it to a shelter or the SPCA. Are you there any animal shelters that can pick up this dog? The people who gave it to her won't take it back. I do not have the financial means to take care of a dog. I can barely afford my mortgage and am struggling to save money for a car. I can't afford dog food, vet bills, etc.
