Description
I'm a bass player who is looking to join an existing band or form a new band. I have 15 years of experience in a variety of styles and have played multiple gigs. Ideally, I'd like to find musicians within 20-30 minutes of West Chester so travel isn't a burden.
I'm looking to practice weekly and play gigs once we are tight - likely once a month or so. While I'm serious about music and practice, my goals here are to have fun, learn from other musicians, and justify all the equipment I have.
This isn't about making a career in music - I'm 50 with a family and a full-time job so music is a hobby for me. I enjoy playing with others and playing gigs but it's not going to be anything serious.
Styles of music I'd be interested playing include:
* New Wave / Post Punk
* Alternative rock
* Blues / Blues rock
* Surf rock
* Grunge
* Old school metal (e.g, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, etc.)
* Soul / Motown
I totally understand that playing gigs usually involves playing classic rock or dance music and I'm fine with that, too. However, I've played a lot of the "standard bar band" songs before and would like doing something different (at least part of the time). I'd be fine with originals as well provided we mix in some covers to get a feel for playing together.
I have professional gear and transportation. I am available for practice weeknights or weekends and gigs on the weekends. I'd be willing to split costs for a rehearsal space if we don't have anywhere to practice.
If you're a band or guitarist/drummer/vocalist/keyboardist looking for a bass player, drop me an email and we'll see if we can make something work.
