drummer seeking musicians

I'm a 38 year old drummer interested in meeting other musicians for regular-ish jams in the district, looking toward eventually playing the odd gig. More recently, I'm into a mix of modern/experimental jazz, Afrobeat, UK soul/jazz, Americana, indie rock and some independent hip hop. I've been playing since I was 14, and can play most styles -- I've been in everything from rockabilly and punk/ska bands to jazz jams; would be interested both in joining with others already jamming, or in a band, or meeting up with folks who are into creating something new. I love improvising, coming up with creative parts, and playing off others,, and would really just like to find like-minded musicians to play with, and have a couple of beers with, on the odd week night or Fri/Sat night. I've really been enjoying the odd open jam night at the 7DC in Noma, but wanted to find something a bit more regular. (Small aside: I'm a bit less interested in/able to play metal, new wave or shoe gaze type stuff, though I enjoy listening to some of it.) My soundcloud has me noodling about on my digital/acoustic kits, mostly on my own, but with some jams thrown in there: https://soundcloud.com/imarlow-1 I recently moved to the city (Capitol Hill) and don't have a car, so it would need to be on the subway/at a rehearsal space (I only have my digital kit with me in the US, though I have a bad ass acoustic set of Ayottes up in Canada, where I'm from, if things progress!); I'm also a tired dad, who travels occasionally for work. If anyone can put up with all those un-rock'n'roll attributes, hit me up!
