Description

For more than 30 years, the AIDS Service Foundation of Greater Kansas City has acted to eliminate the stigma, suffering, and spread of HIV/AIDS in our community. In working with a diverse HIV/AIDS community, we have witnessed the same acceleration of healthcare inequities that currently seem to define the COVID-19 pandemic and expand social stratification. Everyone deserves access to essential medical care and treatment, especially the underserved and uninsured. Therefore, in observance of World AIDS Day 2022 and the Foundation's ongoing mission to raise both money and awareness for our local struggle against HIV/AIDS, we ask you to consider serving as a sponsor of World AIDS Day 2022. You can find descriptions of giving opportunities on the ticketing page. In recognition of your support, you will be invited to the in-person World AIDS Day Reception on Thursday, December 1st, 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Studio Dan Meiners, 2500 West Pennway, Kansas City, MO. This event serves to commemorate those we have lost to AIDS-related illness, to advocate for those living with HIV/AIDS and to reaffirm our commitment to an AIDS-Free future. Continuing the past two year's World AIDS Day theme, HIV/AIDS Activism Through Art, we have again commissioned a public large-scale outdoor mural to bring attention to the importance of defeating the stigma of HIV/AIDS and its impact on access to quality healthcare. We are thrilled that this year's mural is being created by members of the student body at Kansas City Institute of Art. Location of the mural is still to be determined. Thank you for your steadfast commitment to the mission of the AIDS Service Foundation and your consideration of our request in support of World AIDS Day 2022. Sincerely, Ryan Gove & Laurie Ingram
