As Dubuque County Conservation continues to promote and restore the wildlife of Dubuque County, we recognize that this effort cannot be done by our staff alone. With over 2,500 acres of parks, natural area, preserves, and wetlands Dubuque County Conservation Board (DCCB) interacts with just a small portion of land compared to the hundreds of thousands of acres that make up Dubuque County. The wildlife that is present within the beloved natural areas of Dubuque expands far beyond the park, county, and even state boundaries.
We are excited to invite you to a Land Owners Workshop at the E.B. Lyons Interpretive Center on Saturday, March 4th. This workshop is meant to be an empowering opportunity for landowners to learn how to manage and promote restoration within their own properties, no matter the property size. It will also be a chance to learn practices DCCB implements to manage their properties across Dubuque County. This will also be a great chance to network with environmental specialists, DCCB staff, and other landowners within Dubuque County that are interested in working towards conservation-minded goals for their property.
The workshops sessions will include topics such as:
• Conservation Officer discussions about private landowner rights
• Implementing natural resource work on your own property
• Invasive species identification and management
• Soil and water conservation
• Sustainable agriculture and more!
