Description

Durham's Black Wall Street was home to hundreds of thriving businesses. And Black entrepreneurship in the early 1900's birthed countless styles that are still relevant, today. In the following decades, we saw Black style evolve, but with the same ingenuity and creativity. That said, it is our pleasure to present an opportunity to revisit some of the most stylish eras of our past. We'll be sharing mood boards and related inspo in the coming days, but for now, try digging through some of those old family albums. A general rule of thumb for outfit brainstorming: think of your granny or grandpa, or your great granny or great grandpa and recreate the flyest fit you've ever seen them in. Think pocket watches and mink stoles. From Zora Neale Hurston to Harlem's Cotton Club. It actually wouldn't hurt to watch Harlem Nights. Be thoughtful but don't overthink it. Happy flying, Brint, Rico, and Tooley
