Featuring hard-hitting conversations with the nation’s most powerful politicians who had a front row seat to the events in question, this is an unforgettable and revealing documentary about the secrets underlying America's democracy and impact of Washington’s most powerful people. Blake Zeff is a Brown alum ('99) and political journalist/editor who has investigated the student loan crisis, poverty, wrongful convictions, and economic division in the Democratic Party. He has written for some of the most prominent publications in the country, including Capital New York, Salon, Vice, GQ, and Politico. Prior to this, Zeff got an inside look at politics through experience as a senior US Senate aide and senior policy and communications advisor for the New York Attorney General Office, where he directed the Conviction Review Bureau to address wrongful convictions across the state. He has also served on two political campaigns and multiple non-profits, where he has been praised for his work in strategic communications. ​LOAN WOLVES is Zeff’s directorial debut. It premiered at the DOC NYC film festival on November 13-14, 2022, and was selected to compete with ten other films (among 2000 submissions) in the festival’s U.S. competition. It will screen at various colleges and theaters, before airing on MSNBC and streaming on Peacock in December, 2022.
