Guitarist Looking For Local Jams

Description
Hey all, Background: I'm a 31 year old dude who plays guitar and dabbles in bass a little. I started playing about 6 years ago and realize the older I get the harder it is to find people to play with. I'm also decently introverted in certain aspects of life which makes it hard to go out of my way to look for these types of relationships. Figured it's time to take the time to post something here. I was taught music theory up front by a friend and most of my playing/technique/practice has evolved from that knowledge. I've learned various songs in the past but most of my time playing it growing upon certain chord progressions and riffs I've stumbled upon over the years. I'm not going to say I'm sitting on 30+ unpublished songs, because that's not true. I do have 30+ self-recordings that are intended to enhance any future collaborations. Musical Style/Interests I love all things rock and would consider my style to be a culmination of blues, funk, some metal, alt/indie rock & roll. Not unique, but true to my interests. My favorites (& direct inspirations) are My Morning Jacket, Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Prince, Queens of the Stone Age, Grateful Dead and Arctic Monkeys. I also have an affinity for many R&B/funk African American outlets from Parliament/Funkadelic to James Brown to Stevie Wonder. Most of the above said ideas are surely born out my exposure to these bands and everything in between. Collaboration background: 2 of my best friends and myself found a nice groove over a 2 year period recently, but the 1 is a former multi-band drummer who has stated "I never envision playing on a stage ever again" and another shows no initiative while openly never practicing. We're all still great friends, but I've officially put to rest the idea we ever become something as a group especially since the drummer hasn't picked up his sticks in over a year at this point. That said, I cherish that 2 year period as it really helped me become a better musician. It pushed many of those progressions/riffs further along as our sessions we built from what I was bringing to the table. Not unique, but we were regularly cycling through 5-7 of these a session over a 2 hour period. No singing, straight instrumentals, the structures would sometimes change, but we had a lot of fun and just powered through our jam sessions. That amount of fun is what made it hard to come to the realization that both of them weren't interested in trying to make it more. Goals: My ultimate goal is to start a band and see where it goes, but I need people to jive with first before I get too ahead of myself. I've been finding it hard to find people to play with as most of my options are involved in other projects while working jobs. My friends I mentioned above live about 40 minutes away and it feels that ship has sailed. Time to try and meet new musicians! I'm not really interested in covers as I feel my theory knowledge lends itself to writing some pretty basic enough compositions that we can jam on and build from. I know I'm not alone here so I would love other ideas brought to the table as well. I'm not ruling out learning a few covers together if you wish, just felt necessary to point out. My life doesn't hinge on starting a band so I am definitely not one to be a control freak or have this set-in-stone idea of what my music career should look like. That being said I do have goals. This doesn't mean you need to have the same goals but would be cool if you do! If you're interested drop me a line. I'd be happy to have a conversation and pass along some past recordings to give you an idea of my sound.
