Want to play in a big band? Want to learn to improvise? There is no audition for jazz at NOVA. The NOVA Nighthawks big band starts January 23rd and meets on Monday nights. Details: MUS 135 – Jazz Ensemble (Big Band, led by Professor Gunn) (1 Credit Hour) Mondays 7:00 – 9:45 pm in AFA room 118, Alexandria Campus MUS 159 – Improvisational Techniques (deep dive into how to improvise, led by Professor Gunn) (3 Credit Hours) Tuesdays and Thursdays 4 – 5:50 pm in AFA Room 118, Alexandria Campus MUS 225 – Jazz History (lecture class, led by Professor Gunn) (3 Credit Hours) Fridays 11:10 am – 12:55 pm on the Annandale Campus Registration directions: https://www.nvcc.edu/admissions/register.html General information: Classes are $185/credit hour.
