There are multiple living options for seniors. These range from staying at home all the way through Skilled Nursing (Nursing Homes). The health and independent living capability of each senior will dictate the type of living needed. The costs associated with each type of living can vary significantly and can be an important part of overall retirement planning. Understanding the basic options will allow a financial planner to better advise their clients in their retirement plans. Upon completion of the course the learner should be able to: 1. Define basic concepts associated with senior living 2. Explain the types of Senior Living Options and associated costs in Kansas and Missouri including aging in place at home and in a community. 3. Explain basic options for paying for Senior Living 4. Identify when and how to start planning and transitioning into a higher model of care Senior Living 1.5 hours given for CEU as approved by MO DPR State Committee of Social Workers and for Certified Financial Planners.
