2018 john deere lawn mower cranks-no turnover

It’s not the gas, fuel filter, battery, spark plugs, or carburetor. I had it started, and once I let off the emergency brake to roll backwards it made a noise like it was chewing up a belt or something and shut itself down, but upon inspection I found no obvious signs of what or where it could be from. The deck belt is fine and I don’t think would effect the motor turning over anyway. It’s only a 3yr old lawnmower and I’ve changed the oil every year. I can’t imagine it would be anything too serious but I do think it’ll be something different than your average no start situation. If someone is familiar with these mowers and symptoms I’d pay them to fix it but I don’t want someone who is just going to waste the time of doing everything I’ve already done. The last thing I’ll be checking is the kill wire so please don’t respond unless you have full confidence you’re capable of getting this thing diagnosed/fixed at a reasonable cost. Thank you
