Description
This neutered male was found abandoned in a crate outside of shelter this morning AFTER staff had arrived for the day; no one sought out staff inside for help with the animal. There was a short note attached to the crate stating the dog was found on “the side of 17 south,” but we have no additional info of exactly where on 17. Please, if you need help, reach out to us or another shelter first before abandoning an animal. There is no need to be embarrassed to ask for help; we will offer what resources we have available for you. THIS IS INCREDIBLY UNSAFE FOR BOTH THE ANIMAL’S PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH (AND AGAINST THE LAW). Like most shelters, we are currently operating at capacity, and animals abandoned in the parking lot, yard, etc of the shelter puts a strain on the organization. If you have found an animal and do not know what to do, please contact animal control for the jurisdiction of where the animal was found: North Myrtle Beach: Myrtle Beach: Horry County: Georgetown: Finding abandoned animals at our shelter is an occurrence happening far too often. To help us continue to operate and care for these animals, we hope you will show your support by donating at: https://www.flipcause.com/secure/cause_pdetails/MTYzMzI4... Please remember these animals are not up for adoption yet. The purpose of these posts are to reunite lost pets with their owners. Animals will be held for five days to allow an owner time to reclaim them. Wild cats; vicious dogs imposing a safety threat to shelter workers or visitors; badly injured, sick, or suffering animals requiring extensive treatment; and animals with highly contagious or fatal diseases are exempt from the five day impoundment, however. After the hold period, pending medical and behavioral assessment, animals may be available for adoption. All adoptions are on a first come - first serve basis. HSNMB is located at 409 Bay Street North Myrtle Beach. Please call the shelter at if you recognize these animals.
