Description NEWARK BASED BUSINESSES OR NEWARK RESIDENTS ONLY A minority and/or woman owned business or enterprise (M/WBE) can get certified with the State of New Jersey. While New Jersey state government does not give special consideration to vendors that hold M/WBE certifications, some local government contracts do give special consideration. This certification may help when obtaining contracts with government entities or as a subcontractor or prime to a larger government contract. Register to learn more about the M/WBE program along with eligibility requirements, have a certification specialist review your application for completeness as well as assist in submitting all required documentation to the State of New Jersey for approval. I have over 30 years of experience assisting small businesses of various sizes and industries. Over the course of my 23-year career with SBA, I held many positions including SBA Servicing Loan Officer, Marketing Specialist as well as Business Opportunity Specialist (BOS) within SBA's 8(a) program. Also held a Marketing Specialist position with CIT, Small Business Lending in New Jersey providing the organization with market and outreach support. In addition to my extensive experience and expertise, I am also a former Adjunct Professor with Anne Arundel Community College where I taught courses in Advertising & Sales Promotion, Marketing, Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Management Principles as well as Social Media classes. I currently hold an Undergraduate Degree in Business from Coppin University, a Master’s in Legal & Ethical Studies from the University of Baltimore, and an MBA and Master’s in Marketing from the University of Maryland. Belief in the small business community has lead me to devote my entire career to assisting small businesses with their growth and expansion into the state and federal procurement marketplace.
