Founded in 1992 by former Disney Studios President Rich Frank, Frank Family quickly became a standard bearer of quality and balance in Napa Valley wines. Today, Frank Family farms and sources more than 250 acres of vineyards across Napa Valley’s most acclaimed appellations. Under the guidance of winemaker, Todd Graff, Frank Family Vineyards has built a reputation as a world-class producer from Napa Valley, best known for their Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Carneros Chardonnay, Carneros Pinot Noir and Napa Valley Zinfandel. These wines are knock-outs and crowd-pleasers: pour Frank Family for a novice wine drinker who wants power and for the most discerning wine geek and both will be impressed. Reception pour: Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs Brut, 2019 Blanc de Noirs (white from black) is the counterpart to Blanc de Blancs (white from white). Made primarily from the red grape Pinot Noir, this is a complex, medium-bodied, brut sparkling wine. Schramsberg pioneered the Blanc de Noirs style in the United States, producing the first such commercial American sparkler in 1967. “The 2019 Schramsberg Blanc de Noirs opens with aromas of passion fruit, loquat, strawberry, pear, pineapple, and almost ripe peach, which harmonize with notes of ginger, vanilla, blanched almond, and nutmeg. The palate begins with a bright and juicy entry, that integrates dense and lively layers of zesty orange, nectarine, and tropical fruit. Its mouthwatering acidity and verve lead to a balanced, clean and crisp finish. Frank Family Chardonnay, 2021 This wine is perfumed in brioche and baked apple, with seasonings of nutmeg and vanilla. It opens in a rich, full-bodied concentration of citrus and white peach and evolves on the palate to show structure and depth. Bright acidity lifts hints of toasted oak, maintaining a fresh and plush finish. Frank Family Pinot Noir, 2021 This wine bursts with flavor on the palate, layered in delightful acidity and soft tannins, as notes of strawberry jam and toasted rosemary harmonize into a long finish. Frank Family Zinfandel, 2019 Fragrant earthiness lies beneath rich black cherry and plum flavors. Mocha, cardamom, and baked cherry enhance the wine’s refreshing acidity and powerful tannins find harmony on the finish. Frank Family Cabernet Sauvignon, 2019 Flavors of black plums, nutmeg, dark chocolate, and a touch of espresso enhance the wine’s complex and full-bodied structure, with a core of elegant acidity from start to finish.
