Description

PLEASE NOTE: This Class has a total of 4 Sessions. Each Session will be Held on Tuesday from 7-9pm From November 29th to December 20th Veneering opens a world of possibilities to the woodworker. Woods that would be difficult to get, or be highly expensive can be affordable with veneer, and veneering makes it possible to do projects that would be virtually impossible to make with lumber. Veneering is easy, once you know the basics. And once you know the basics your imagination can take you to do projects all will admire. The class will cover veneer selection, cutting and joining, gluing, sanding and finishing. Design considerations will be discussed. Students are encouraged to have projects they would like to work on during the class. Please Note: The instructor will email you with additional materials you may want to purchase for participation in this class, including a self-healing cutting mat, straight edge, and utility knife. Twin Cities Maker has most of these tools available in the space to use, including the self-healing cutting mat (which tends to be the most expensive item in the list). After your first session - you will get a better idea of what you may want to purchase. About the Instructor Thomas Schrunk has been called one of the top five veneer artists in America. His work has been found in the collections of Ronald Reagan, Sophia Lauren, the royal family of Jodhpur, India, Bob Hope and others in the others in the US, Europe, and Asia.
