Looking for small animal for autistic son

My sons chihuahua (emotional support animal) recently got taken from him. He has been searching the house for him and calling for him. He is 3 years old. He has autism and loves animals of all kinds but mostly dogs. I would like to get him a small animal that would not bite and is good with kids. Right now we do not have the money to pay for another animal but if anyone could donate a new furry friend to my son I would be forever grateful.
