Rehoming Young parakeet

I have a young male parakeet that I need to rehome, I took him from a person not caring for him and I spent some time making the little bird happy with toys treats and etc. He will come with his cage and whatever else I bought for him, he's cute, quiet and looks like he's willing to be a handlable bird, just needs more time but he understands I'm not goanna hurt him and were just trying to make friends. I would like to recoup some of the supplies I bought as a rehoming fee. I'd ask $40 for him and everything.
