Think Traveling Wilburys-second call

Description

UPDATE got a drummer and guitar player with vocals on board to get together and see what happens… hoping there’s a few more folks that might give me a shout soon. Thanks I’d like to form a group where not everyone has to be there all the time for practices (or even for gigs. My thoughts are a few acoustic guitar players who sing, with some maybe having the ability to play another instrument (keyboard, sax etc.,. A couple of percussionist (NOT surrounded by gear) that can compliment each other and also cover for each other if only one is available for practice or gig. Although retired, I travel and may be gone one, two, three weeks here and there, but I have played all my life and really want to play in a group setting…while also fulfilling ‘the bucket list’…hence this idea. This would not be pointless jam sessions… there will be organization and an idea of who is going to play/sing what before a practice (although could end up completely different during as practice). I will take the lead for about an hour (maybe longer if a leader is required and I’m tasked with it) and say we are going to learn Wilburys tunes to start… not to be a Wilburys cover band, but because that’s the closest to the format I’m thinking of - so let’s start with that. I have no practice space or PA (hopefully that can be figured out)… just this idea. I can sing ‘a bit’ but am a very good guitar player. I am looking for very good guitar players and/or very good singers - and percussionist who know what a shuffle and a backbeat is. Each member should have fun but know there is a some seriousness and professionalism expected by all… play well enough to be paid whether we are being paid or not (but let’s shoot for being paid). Anyone want to talk about it?? Let me know if you have interest Thanks Patrick
