TAMPA, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has arrested a 22-year-old man linked to a fatal shooting on Dec. 2.
On Wednesday, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for Carl Feltus on charges of manslaughter with a firearm, tampering with physical evidence (two counts) and felon in possession of a firearm.
The sheriff's office said Feltus shot a man at the Palms at Ashley Oaks apartment complex at 1701 E. 131st Ave. in Tampa, following a verbal altercation. The victim was transported to AdventHealth Tampa where he later died.
Feltus was located on Wednesday night at his home in Tampa and taken into custody without incident.
"With the closure of any homicide investigation, we are able to bring relief to the victim's family knowing the person who took their loved one's life is now off of our streets," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "With this arrest, the process can now begin to ensure that justice is served."
