HIKE WALK THROUGH: It is steep and strenuous the whole way. The scenery is stunning. Precipitous canyon walls rise steeply into the blue sky. Soaring peaks and ridges contour the skyline. Huge boulders dot the canyon bottom. A year-round creek provides a delightful soundtrack. Majestic fir, pine, and cedar reach to the sky while alder, oak and sycamore create a shady canopy. Snow can linger in shadowy recesses. Old cabins and cabin ruins sprinkled along the lower canyon remind HiKers of a simpler yesteryear. This HiKe takes you through the beautiful Icehouse Canyon trail, in the Cucamonga Wilderness. • Intermediate 1 (Snail pace) These Hikes are great for people who have found that Easy level Hikes just aren't pushing them hard enough. These Hikes will start incorporating steep paths, the possibility of tricky or unsteady terrain, and a moderately fast pace. Most Intermediate 1 Hikes will be under six miles in length and may be done at a more grueling pace. IS IT DOG-FRIENDLY? Please only bring experienced dogs who can handle the incline and miles of this hike. MY FRIEND SAID I COULD DO THIS HIKE; I SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO IT, RIGHT: Contrary to popular belief, you know your body and HiKing experience better than your friends. Whether you are a first-timer or an experienced Hiker, please read our hike details page, as the HiKe may not suite your experience level. We will have a better experience if every HiKe has HiKers of the intended level. Please take the time to check out the event page on Facebook for informational pieces leading up to the HiKe.
