Cops Search For Park Slope Package Thief: NYPD

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Cops are searching for a man who broke into two Park Slope buildings to steal packages in the days before and after Christmas. The man, caught on surveillance video in both incidents, first broke into a home on St. Marks Place between Fifth and Fourth avenues around 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 15, police said. The man broke the front door's lock, took a package from the lobby and put it in his book bag. The package had clothes and other items inside that cost about $148, cops said. Then, on Dec. 26, the man broke into a building on Sixth Street near Fifth Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Again, he broke the front door lock and took a package from the lobby, this time valued at $90, police said. The man fled on a black bicycle toward Fifth Avenue, according to police. Police said the man is in his 30s, stands about 5'7" tall, weighs about 190 pounds and was last seen wearing a brown long jacket, black and brown pants, black sneakers, gray winter hat and a yellow book bag.
