CHELMSFORD, MA — The state House and Senate agreed on a $16.5 billion transportation bond early Wednesday morning, and there's more than $3 million in the bill for Chelmsford-related projects. The bill now heads to Gov. Charlie Baker for approval, although the proposal is much different from the $18 billion bill he sent to the Legislature in 2019. The bill passed in both the House and Senate, except a lone "no" vote by Sutton Republican state Sen. Ryan Fattman. Here's what's in the bill for Chelmsford: $3 million for highway Route 3A and Route 40 in Chelmsford including improvements to roadways, walkways, sidewalks, traffic lights, crosswalks and parking.
