need help with dining room re-work

Basically I got what I paid for and now I want to fix what the previous guy messed up. Like the crooked vent. Moving the transition piece closer to the pocket door. And re-doing the section with the random transition piece. Basically everything from the wall in the 3rd picture and over past the stairs needs to be re-done which is about 1/3 of the dining room. I have extra boxes of laminate that I think should be enough to cover what needs to be reworked. Please help!!!
