Definition: Political machine- "In U.S. politics, a party organization, headed by a single boss or small autocratic group, that commands enough votes to maintain political and administrative control of a city, county, or state." Pity you never learned that, isn't it? Until very recently voting was difficult for most working people, impossible for minority segments of society. Yes, there was absentee balloting, but it was meaningless. It never even got counted because it was such a small sampling, it was felt even if everyone was for one candidate, it would not change the outcome. Party lines were so gerrymandered by controlling political parties (political machines,) that much of the nation's votes were meaningless. Thanks to the tireless acts of true patriots who believe in democracy, all of that is beginning to shift. Absentee ballots are now counted before a result is announced invigorating seniors and other disenfranchised voters to cast ballots. Voting districts are being readjusted so your vote should always count. You have been lied to. You believe the lie because a truth would be too hard to internalize. Never say you have no faith. You demonstrate daily on this board that even when all the rational nation demonstrates to you that what you believe is absurd, you continue to believe. So, in a sense I suppose you could call that a good thing? I don't know. Keep voting. God bless America.
